EverQuest has gone through a vast amount of expansions to date. The original EverQuest (Classic) launched on March 16, 1999. It featured a level 50 cap, the three continents Faydwer, Antonica and Odus, and three raid major bosses: Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep, Lord Nagafen in Nagafen's Lair (Solusek B / SolB) and Lady Vox in Permafrost Keep.

The Ruins of Kunark.
Release Date: April 24, 2000
Level Cap: Increased from 50 to 60.
New Content: The Iksar race, with the home city of Cabilis. The continent of Kunark, accessible via boats and teleports. Several dungeons and raid targets, including Veeshan's Peak, the toughest dragon dungeon in the game. Epic weapons added with a patch.
Major Game Changes: Most classes received new, class-defining spells that to an extent changed the way they were played. Many more raid targets, both small and large. Outdoor zones provided ample amounts of mobs and space for people to gain experience with less risk than in the classic, cramped dungeons.

New Content: The snowy continent of Velious. Several dungeons and raid targets. Giant/Dragon/Dwarf faction war. New planes; Growth and Mischief.

New Content: The moon of Luclin. The Vah Shir race and Beastlord class are introduced. Several dungeons and raid targets.
Major Game Changes: Mounts allow players to travel faster and meditate while fighting. Alternate Advancement (AA) provide players an additional way to gain power. A major overhaul to the user interface takes place, allowing players to customize it. New, optional character models. The Bazaar was introduced during Luclin. Introduction of safe hub zones such as The Nexus, with limited teleport capabilities to other parts of Norrath.

New Content: The Planes of Power, a collection of new zones joined together by the Plane of Tranquility and Plane of Knowledge. A huge attunement and progression chain bound it all together, with a mix of group and raid content, although much more focus on the raid content. More AA.
Major Game Changes: The central hub of Plane of Knowledge provided a central place for players to gather in order to gather, trade, craft and travel from. Portal stones gave everyone quick access to the entire world.

New Content: The froglok race was made available to players. Focus on more casual group content for mid- to high-level players.

Major Game Changes: The Guild Hall provides a new place for guilds to gather and teleport together. The Guild Lobby allows players to search and recruit for guilds, and summon their corpses with the help of NPCs. Potion Belt and Bandolier UI elements added. Bartering added to The Bazaar. New Content: A rather small set of zones. Monster missions allowed players to take the role of an NPC/monster and fight through a dungeon.
Major Game Changes: Shrouding allowed players to turn into creatures with special abilities, and down-level in order to join players of lower levels for experience gain. Evolving items increased in strength as they were used.

Level Cap: Increased from 70 to 75.
New Content: The Drakkin race with the home city of Crescent Reach. The expansion featured a large expanse of land located in the north-eastern Antonica, with a full set of zones that could take players from level 1 to 75. This provided an easy and direct path for fast levelling, either grouped or solo.
Major Game Changes: Resting state allowed players to regenerated their health and mana within minutes while out of combat. Consider colors changed to make it easier to judge the strength and experience gain of monsters. Corruption resist. Spells and abilities now come in three ranks ("solo", group and raid respectively).

Major Game Changes: Greatly enhanced hotbar system. Items are now clickable from within bags, and almost all are usable without being equipped. Parcel system allows sending items to other players. Customizable guild halls.

New Content: New tiered group and raid zones, connected to the Alaris continent. The expansion's content was released in smaller packages over the course of 7 months.
Major Game Changes: Aggro meter shows the level of hate/agro/threat that players have compared to their group mates. Offline Bazaar mode and ability to buy off the Bazaar from anywhere in the world.
